Collecting & Sharing Great Stories from Conference Attendees

The Nonprofit Storytelling Conference (NPSC) is an exceptional get together for nonprofit professionals who want to tell better stories and raise more money, more easily. This conference offers three days of interactive, creative sessions in three main areas: fundraising, leadership and communications. MemoryFox has been a proud sponsor of, and exhibitor at, NPSC since 2022.

This year, MemoryFox Partner, Rachel Zant, of Pen with a Purpose, had the exciting opportunity to teach several sessions at the conference, including a 2.5 hour Intensive called: “Creative Storytelling: Crafting Engaging and Motivating Fundraising Campaigns”. During the Intensive session, Rachel and her co-presenter, John Lepp, of Agents of Good, planned to ask attendees to go outside to gather items from nature and bring them back to the table to make a “creation”.

Rachel and John needed a simple way to share each individual’s creation with the entire room, without having people move from table to table.

That’s where MemoryFox came in.

How did they do it? The Collect, Organize & Share Method:

1. Collect Stories From Session Attendees

After attendees returned from gathering their items from outside, Rachel and John challenged attendees to build a “creation” and snap a photo. They placed a QR code on the big screen and prompted attendees to upload their photo to a MemoryFox campaign. Along with their photo, attendees were asked to submit their name, email address and opt-in to having their photo shared as part of a community collage.

2. Organize Automatically Onto Story Page

As the session attendees submitted their creation photos, the presentation continued! Rachel shared her tips to master the art of tugging at heartstrings with visual and written storytelling, while the images seamlessly processed behind-the-scenes. Prior to the session, Rachel and the MemoryFox team created a Story Page that would automatically display the photos upon submission. Therefore, the attendee’s 23 photos created a community collage that was ready to share within minutes.

3. Share Story Page Within Minutes

Rachel and John’s presentation continued until the time finally came! When they were ready to share the community collage with the room, all they needed to do was click the link to the Story Page. Not only did attendees love seeing their creation up on the big screen, having them all in one cohesive place creating a great sense of community.

"The night before our presentation, I wondered if there was a way to easily share creations from session attendees up on the big screen. By using a MemoryFox campaign in the presentation, I was able to do exactly that! Not only did MemoryFox collect the photos for me, the auto-generated Story Page made it extremely easy to share a finished webpage. Session attendees loved this fun, interactive element. Thank you for taking my session to the next level!"
