Displaying Event Success Through Real-Time Visuals

The transition period from military service to civilian life can be challenging for service members, especially those dealing with lasting issues both physically and mentally. Wounded Warrior Homes is a nonprofit whose mission is to provide transitional housing and re-integrative support services to recently separated veterans with service-connected disabilities.

In order to raise funds and awareness for this essential mission, Wounded Warrior Homes hosts their annual “Fairways 4 Veterans” golf event. They understand that every golfer, sponsor and volunteer has a unique perspective about why they support their mission, but they struggled with capturing these stories in real-time due to capacity and budget constraints. That’s where MemoryFox came in.

How did they do it? The Collect, Organize & Share Method:

1. Collect Golfer Experiences

Wounded Warrior Homes designated two volunteers to be their content collection champions during the event in order to collect as many experiences as possible. These volunteers interacted with participants during check-in and were stationed at one of the holes. They asked golfers targeted questions about why the cause was important to them - and the golfers were happy to share their perspectives - resulting in 240 photos and videos collected throughout the day!

2. Stay Organized

The photos & videos collected were seamlessly added to Wounded Warrior Homes’ Story Bank and Canva account, where members of their team can access them instantaneously, to be shared afterward, as well as to be used to promote next year’s event.

3. Share Success At The Event

The day wrapped with a reception and silent auction. The volunteers used Canva to create a slideshow of the videos and photos gathered that day to display on the big screen as the supporters enjoyed their dinner and cocktails. Wounded Warrior Homes now features this slideshow on their event website, where they are accepting registrations for their 2024 event!

"Our annual golf event is the perfect time to ask our supporters about their connection to Wounded Warrior Homes. Having a tool like MemoryFox to collect and display these stories in real-time is a game changer for us!"
